Who we are

ASR Performance (Accident Storage & Recovery) is a company registered in England and Wales, company number 11472136, VAT number 348 575 558. We are the data controller for information you submit through this website.

You can reach us on 0203 916 0204 or at info@asruk.co.uk.

Needs confirmationA registered office address should be added here, along with ASR’s ICO registration number if the company is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office.

What we collect

If you complete the Start a Claim form, we collect the information you enter into it:

  • your name, telephone number and email address;
  • your vehicle’s make, model and registration;
  • your insurance company and, if you provide it, your policy number;
  • the date, time and location of the incident, and any description you give;
  • whether the vehicle is driveable, whether you need recovery or a replacement vehicle, and whether anyone was injured;
  • any photographs or documents you choose to attach.

Whether anyone was injured is information about health, which data protection law treats as a special category. We collect it only because it changes what we need to arrange for you, and we use it only for that purpose and for any referral you ask us to make.

If you call, email or message us on WhatsApp instead, we hold whatever you tell us through those channels.

How we use it

We use your information to respond to you and to arrange the services you have asked about — recovery, storage, a replacement vehicle, repair, and support with your claim. Where you have asked for it, or where an accident has caused injury and you want us to, we may pass your details to our panel of personal injury specialists or to the relevant insurer so that your claim can progress.

Our lawful bases are that processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and administering claims. For the injury question, we rely on your explicit consent, given by the acknowledgement on the claim form.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for marketing unless you have separately asked us to.

Who we share it with

Your claim is sent by email to our own address at info@asruk.co.uk using a third-party email delivery provider. Depending on what you need and what you ask us to do, we may also share relevant details with recovery operators, storage providers, repairers, vehicle hire providers, insurers and, where you ask, personal injury specialists.

This website is hosted by Netlify, which processes technical information such as your IP address in order to serve the site and to protect it from abuse.

How long we keep it

Needs confirmationA retention period needs to be confirmed by ASR — typically claim records are kept for a defined number of years after a claim closes, reflecting limitation periods and insurer requirements. This section should state that period once decided.

Information stored in your browser

While you are completing the claim form, your answers are saved temporarily in your own browser so that you do not lose them if the page reloads or you lose signal. This is stored on your device only, is never sent to us except when you submit the form, and is cleared when you close the browser tab or when your claim is submitted. Your consent tick is deliberately never saved.

See our cookie policy for more.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected if it is wrong, to ask us to delete it, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. To do any of those, contact us on 0203 916 0204 or at info@asruk.co.uk.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We would rather you told us first so we can put it right — see our complaints page.
