Accident Storage

North West London

Accident recovery across North West London.

North West London is defined by the roads running through it. The A406 North Circular, the A40 Western Avenue and the southern end of the M1 all converge here, and an incident on any of them creates problems that a side-street shunt does not.

On the ground

Written for someone dealing with this now. If it is easier to talk, the number is at the top of every page.

The A406 and A40 change the urgency

The North Circular and Western Avenue are fast, busy and largely unforgiving of a stopped vehicle. An incident in a live lane is not something to manage yourself — get everyone behind a barrier, call 999, and let the vehicle sit until it can be moved safely.

On these roads the recovery itself is also constrained. There is often nowhere to place a truck, loading may need to happen from a specific side, and in some sections it simply cannot be done until traffic is managed. That is why we ask exactly where a vehicle is before sending anything — 'the A406' covers a great deal of ground.

If the vehicle is driveable and you can get it off onto a side road or into a retail park, say so when you call. It usually makes the whole job faster and safer.

Industrial estates and height restrictions

Park Royal is one of the largest industrial estates in Europe, and much of NW10 around it is a mix of yards, units and access roads with awkward turning circles. Vehicles are frequently recovered from places a long tilt-and-slide cannot physically reach or turn in.

Brent Cross, the Wembley car parks and the retail parks along the A406 all carry height restrictions that rule out a conventional recovery truck entirely. A van, or a Hiab working from outside, is often the only workable answer — but that has to be established before someone sets off.

Event traffic around Wembley

On event days the roads around Wembley Stadium and the Arena operate under a different regime: road closures, controlled parking that extends well beyond the usual streets, and traffic volumes that make a normally quick collection slow.

If your accident happens on an event day, tell us. It changes the route in, and sometimes the timing of what is realistic.

Where the vehicle goes next

Recovery is the first step. From there the vehicle needs somewhere secure while the damage is assessed, and in much of NW London — flats, permit streets, no driveway — leaving it at home is not a realistic option.

We arrange secure storage, assessment and repair, and can look at a replacement vehicle where your circumstances and eligibility allow. One team handles all of it, so you are not joining up four companies.

Questions

Asked here in particular.

My car is stuck on the North Circular — what should I do?
Get yourself and any passengers somewhere safe away from the traffic, and call 999 if the vehicle is in a live lane or anyone is hurt. Once it is safe, call us and we will arrange recovery from wherever the vehicle has been left.
Can you recover from Park Royal or a trading estate?
Yes. Tell us the unit and the access road, and whether there are height or width restrictions, so we send equipment that can actually reach it.

One call. One team. From accident to back on the road.
