Accident repairs · London

Accident repairs in London, done properly.

The measure of an accident repair is that nobody can tell there was one — not in the paint under sunlight, not in the panel gaps, and not in what the diagnostics say six months later.

What a proper assessment finds

Impact damage rarely stops at the panel. A knock that looks like a bumper and a wing can have moved a crash structure, disturbed suspension geometry, or upset the sensors and cameras that modern driver-assistance systems depend on.

That last one matters more each year. Cars increasingly carry radar, cameras and parking sensors in exactly the places that get hit, and putting the bodywork back without addressing the systems behind it leaves the vehicle looking repaired without being repaired.

This is why the assessment is done by people who will also carry out the work. An estimate written to a number, then handed to someone else to deliver, is where corners start getting cut.

Paint, and why matching is not the paint code

The paint code tells you what the vehicle left the factory as. It does not tell you what the vehicle looks like now, after several years of sunlight, washing and London air.

Matching is done to the vehicle in front of us, and blended into adjacent panels where that is what it takes for the repair to disappear. A panel that is technically the right colour and visibly a different one is not a finished job.

What to ask any repairer

What exactly is being replaced and what is being repaired. Whether original manufacturer parts are being used, and if not, why not. Whether the paint is being blended into adjacent panels. Whether diagnostics are being run afterwards, and whether any driver-assistance systems need recalibrating.

You are entitled to clear answers to all of that before work starts, from us or from anyone else. If a repairer is vague about it, that is worth noticing.

Choosing where your vehicle is repaired

After a non-fault accident you are generally not obliged to use the repairer your insurer proposes, and can have the work done by a repairer of your choosing. Policies vary, so it is worth checking yours.

We use OEM parts where they are the right choice for the vehicle and the repair, and the objective throughout is to return the vehicle as closely as possible to its pre-accident condition, to a high professional standard.

Questions

Asked on this exact subject.

Can I choose to have my car repaired by you?
In most cases yes, particularly after a non-fault accident — you are generally not obliged to use your insurer's proposed repairer. Check your policy terms, and speak to us if you are unsure.
Do you repair motorcycles as well as cars?
Yes. The team's experience covers both, which also means we know when a bike needs a specialist rather than a generalist.
Will you use original manufacturer parts?
We use OEM parts where they are the right choice for the vehicle and the repair. We will tell you what is being used before the work starts.
